Where will you be on July 14th?
Not that anyone in Philadelphia reads my blog. Actually, not that anyone really reads my blog, except for my favorite lil-big blogger in Atlanta and my forevah roommate in Boston (who together we call Bloggin It "the shittest blog of the year")....but if you do happen to reside in Phila or would like to hop on one of Airtrans super cheap flights and come hold my hand, then come check out (or for) this cool & happening event:
Joseph Gervasi, who also put on the Valerie Project (blogged about below), went through quite a bit to get these old 80's hardcore legends (who I've never heard of) to reunite and play this one show. The best part about it for me is that Joseph has been so kind as to allow me, my friend Karen, and her friend Joshua to finally exhibit our long talked about punk rock slideshow. A collection of photographs from the punk/diy movement from the last 10, maybe even 15 years (don't know how old Joshua is but Karen has at least 5 good years on me). Anyway...I think its going to be quite spectacular! Time to lace up your boots, shave a section of your head, rip up an old t-shirt and act stoopid. Its gonna be great, I tell ya, fucking brillant.

10 (years) is a nice whole number
"The Fifteen WACKY Rules of the Pythagorean Brotherhood!!!!"
as printed in the Spring 1997 issue of Philosophy Now
They quoted these rules from Bertrand Russell's History of Western Philosophy
1. To abstain from beans
2. Not to pick up what has fallen
3. Not to touch a white cock
4. Not to break bread
5. Not to step over a crossbar
6. Not to stir the fire with iron
7. Not to eat from a whole loaf
8. Not to pluck a garland
9. Not to sit on a quart measure
10. Not to eat the heart
11. Not to walk on highways
12. Not to let swallows share one's roof
13. When the pot is taken off the fire, not to leave the mark
of it in the ashes, but to stir them together
14. Do not look in a mirror beside a light
15. When you rise from the bedclothes, roll them
together and smooth out the impress of the body

Ooooo Flash
Speaking of digital flashes (and perhaps the lack of need for them), I bought one today for my Nikon D80. Its a beautiful Nikon Speedlight SB-600. I went to the store with the intention to buy an adaptor for my old SB-27 but it just seemed stupid to buy all this crap just to use this old flash. Also, they totally had a really hot, young, smart guy come over and help me. I'm a total sucker. But really though, what sold me was the fact that these flashes can be wireless. So you can put it anywhere in the room or hand hold it or set it up on a stand and it'll go off on its own. No extra slave required. Gone are the days of that tight cord that came out of the front of my hot shoe, often times falling in front of my lens, and me trying to stretch that cord to an arm's length away from the camera. I never knew how much I needed this.

Starring Snotface
If I was ever to idolize someone I think it would be my friend, Robyn W. She makes the life I wish I had, happen for her everyday. Just traveling, traveling, traveling. She's really incredible, loves the movie Drop Dead Fred, and has the best laugh ever. Here she is with a painted on Frida-brow in this cute, little video. I miss me some Snotface.

No More Flash?
Kodak is trying to make digital sensors that will be so good in low light situations that one won't need a flash. Wow. Read about it.
But who am I without by beloved flash? My camera will feel so lonely. What will my other hand do?
