A Walk Down Poplar Street
The only Super 8 footage I ever shot: Poplar Street; Athens, GA, Nicky, 1998
Tricia just acquired a projector, so this was the first time I've seen this footage in 10 years. I only watched it one other time and that was a few months after I got it processed. Jason Griffin, Nick Canada and I watched it on a screened in porch one night in Athens; they had been working on some horror movie stuff and I had this, which was a total experiment for me. I always did want to shoot more but it was just so expensive. Even 10 years ago, there was only 2 places in the country that would process Super 8 film, not very convenient to say the least. I do still have this camera and would love to shoot some again. Now, I just need to edit this but for the time being, it's nice to watch the unedited version. I thought I cut out some of the sound but apparently not. Kind of annoying, sorry.

Faux G. Stein
In one of my many attempts to shed some of my (organized) clutter, I came across my old, undergrad art history papers and tests. For my American Modernism class, I wrote a fake edition of Camera Work.
The intro reads: This issue of Camera Work is dedicated to presenting some different responses to the recent International Exhibition of Modern Art inside the 69th Regiment Armory, New York City. First, is a review of the show by Alfred Stieglitz along with Gertrude Stein's written portrait of the Armory Show, that appeared in last month's issue of Camera Work. Following are reactions to the review and the show in general by painter, John Sloan, and art critic, Kenyon Cox.
I won't bore you with the whole issue but I do like my faux Gertrude Stein's portrait.
The Show
This is a show that is showing. A show that is interesting is showing. A showing of a show that is interesting. A showing of an interesting show is growing interest. An interest is growing in the show that is showing. A show is showing with interest certainly growing. A show is showing with excitement growing.
